As Deb celebrates her big year, one of her wishes was to travel and explore with the people that she loves who share her appreciation of being outside, in the wild, experiencing nature at it's best.
Welcome to Deb's summer adventure. We are taking over and are hosting all of you at two properties owned by ELEVEN (www.elevenexperience.com) in Crested Butte, Colorado.
The ELEVEN Experience

Both Crested Butte hotels have the feel of private homes and are located close to each other in downtown: see information below. A few weeks before the event, an ELEVEN representative will contact you (via eMail) to discuss activities, culinary requirements and another details.
Day #1: Thursday (arrival)
Arrive In Crested Butte: we will let you know in advance which house you are in. Right now, we are juggling the guest list to get everyone situated.
Check-In: anytime after 2:00 p.m.
Dinner: you are on your own to make plans on the first night although most of the group should be at the hotel early evening. We will be hiking in from Aspen and we've got people coming in from all over the country. The goal is to keep it super casual. There are a lot of fun options around ELEVEN in the downtown area.
Day #2: Friday
Breakfast: daily chef prepared @ ELEVEN

Dinner: Public House Bar & Venue (close walk to ELEVEN)
Party: Public House (Fleetwood Mac cover band)
Day #3: Saturday

The Scarp Ridge Experience!
Each day, choose from fly fishing, hiking, white water rafting, paddle boarding, mountain biking, climbing, and more. Your guides will dial in the details. Big mountain adventure meets small-town charm in Crested Butte, and Scarp Ridge Lodge is your base camp for it all. Led by our local guides, explore the state’s best wildflower hikes, Gold Medal trout waters, and 750 miles of single track. After a day out in the Elk Mountains, sip a local brew in our rooftop hot tub before catching live music in town.

Sopris House
The Sopris House Experience!
Crested Butte is a true mountain town—quaint, walkable, and deeply connected to the terrain that surrounds it. The streets are lively without being crowded, the local scene is unpretentious, and the access to skiing, fly fishing, and mountain biking is as good as it gets in Colorado. Sopris House is a private mountain home in the heart of downtown designed for guests who value space, discretion, and time well spent together. With just four bedrooms, a dedicated Experience Team, and access to Eleven’s exclusive Irwin terrain, the lodge operates entirely at your group’s pace.
What to Expect?
Sopris House’s welcoming spaces and offbeat art offer a unique Colorado vibe that nods to the Old West’s mining history. A fireside dining area and an outdoor courtyard with a copper hot tub are paired with your own stand-alone saloon. Kitted out with a jukebox, pool table, and darts, this wood-paneled bar is yours to enjoy after an epic day in the mountains.

The Maroon Bells Hike
Prelude to the Party:
Me, Deb and Jude are heading to Aspen a few days before the Crested Butte outing. This is not part of the "trip" and we are not planning any hotels, group events or dinners. Our goal is to have a few days with Jude and acclimatize to the Mountains before hiking to Crested Butte. we'd love to see you there but it is going to be very casual and you need to plan.
The hike starts on Thursday morning @ ~ 6:00 a.m. It is a relatively serious affair and the correct gear and training are necessary to enjoy the day and be safe. The hike takes 8-9 hours and an early start is advised so as to avoid late afternoon thunder showers. There may be snow at altitude, so layers of clothing for warmth and rain are essential.
All are welcome - I need a solid headcount to get the appropriate park passes sorted out as the route is busy in summertime.
Hiking Facts:
By car, Crested Butte and Aspen are 100-plus miles apart. But if you are in search of adventure, the two mountain towns are within walking distance. A popular 11-mile trail from Aspen to Crested Butte takes hikers over 12,500-foot West Maroon Pass and is one of the most iconic routes in the area.
